The 4th Annual Roll & Slide Poker Ride 3/7/26
After taking a gap year, the 4th Annual(ish) Roll & Slide is back with a fresh look and the same community spirit you love. This year, the Lander Cycling Club is thrilled to host this all-ages, community-powered event. We love this tradition and couldn’t let another year pass without getting everyone outside to play in the snow(or dirt). This is a truly community-driven day; every dollar raised is reinvested back into the event to keep the fun going year after year—and the more people who participate, the bigger the prize pool grows!
The adventure begins at the CWC Alpine Science Institute (ASI), where we’ll be exploring over 140 acres of beautiful winter (we hope)terrain. Registration kicks off at 9:30am-1pm on March 7th, at the ASI Orchard House, where your entry fee ($30 early bird / $35 after March 2nd) includes a poker map, an event sticker, and a custom neck warmer. From there, you have from 10am-3pm to head out on your favorite mode of human transportation. As you navigate the trails, you'll stop at local non-profit booths to build your poker hand. Each booth will record a card suit and number on your map, turning your morning workout into a high-stakes community scavenger hunt. Make sure to take note of your favorite stops along the way, as each booth will be rated on their "fun factor"—we’re talking snacks, drinks, and all-around good vibes!
The celebration continues downtown later that evening at the Gannett Grill. Grab your bonus poker card then check-in your poker hand at the deck at Gannett Grill from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM—don’t be late if you want a shot at the prizes! The atmosphere will be electric with live music from Bob Lefevre and the Already Gone, who kick off their first set at 6:00 PM. At 7:00 PM we will announce winners and award prizes before the band brings it home with a final set until 8ish. Anyone can participate with the purchase of a ticket, so whether you’re coming for the competition or just the community connection, we can't wait to see you there.
